The Makeshift Man, Dead World
JoJo Seames is a comic book creator and freelance illustrator from Tucson, Arizona, whose work lives at a playful intersection between the fantastic and the mundane. She’s the writer and artist of ongoing independent comic series The Makeshift Man about a magical misanthrope and his jackalope sidekick, a book which is entirely hand-painted in JoJo’s favorite medium, watercolor. JoJo was also the artist of horror comedy Monster Plus, done in collaboration with Chad Bowers and Josh Krach, and has contributed to multiple comics anthologies including Boo! Halloween Stories, and Strange Romance. JoJo’s character designs and illustrations have featured in the collectible card games Dead World and MetaZoo, as well as the video game Apocryphauna, and JoJo also serves as a member of the voice cast for the hybrid animation-and-puppet series Obsidian National Forest. WHILCE PORTACIO broke into the comic book industry as an inker to Marvel Comics’ classic book Longshot in 1985, then later proved he was more than ready to headline as a penciler on The Punisher in 1988.
His success drawing X-Factor in the 90s gave him the chance to create his own, now fan favorite X- Men character: Bishop.
Whilce was also a co-founder of the Image Comics, one of the top independent comic publishers in the world today. At Image, Whilce created “Wetworks”. He then went on to release the successful independent title Stone with his friend and co-creator Brian Haberlin. Stone Vol. 2 is currently in the works.
In 1996, he returned to Marvel to draw “Heroes Reborn: Iron Man” followed by X Force. In the new millennium, Whilce signed up with DC Comics and released Stormwatch, Batman Confidential and Wetworks vol.2. To date, Whilce continues to release books and covers under Marvel and DC Comics, with recent projects like X-Men Legends (with Haberlin as his writer) Deadpool Seven Slaughters, Iron Fist and Iron Man, and is very active in the world of comic book industry.

Brian Pulido is the founder and publisher of Coffin Comics, the independent comics studio that publishes the “Coffinverse” line of graphic novels including: Lady Death, La Muerta, Hellwitch, Lady Satanus and other heavy metal inspired supernatural comic books and merchandise.
In the 90’s, Pulido was the publisher of Chaos! Comics where he created and wrote the Chaos! Universe, including: Evil Ernie, Purgatori and others. Additionally, he has published or written comics based on A Nightmare on Elm St., Chucky, Friday The 13th, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Megadeth, Insane Clown Posse, WWE and many more.
He is on The Hero Initiative’s fundraising board, has received the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund’s Defender of Liberty Award and Comic Con International’s Inkpot Award for contributions to the comic arts.
Pulido has read Marvel’s Captain America monthly without fail since July 1974.
