THANOS CREATOR DESCENDS UPON THE CON! TUCSON COMIC-CON’S FIRST COMIC BOOK GUEST OF 2026 IS EPIC!
TUCSON, AZ (April 10, 2026) – Tucson Comic-Con welcomes legendary superstar comic book creator, artist, and writer Jim Starlin to the 2026 extravaganza.
Jim Starlin is an American comics artist and writer who has been in the industry since the 1970s. Starlin is the creator of globally known Marvel characters, including Thanos, Drax, Gamora, and Shang-Chi.
He wrote the Infinity Gauntlet comic book arc, which is at the top of any Marvel fan’s must-read list. The Infinity Gauntlet redefined “cosmic Marvel” with its scale, which was uniquely unrivaled upon release.
His “cosmic” tales also led to the revamping of the Marvel Comics characters Captain Mar-Vell and Adam Warlock. During his time with DC he drew iconic characters like Darkseid and other characters from Jack Kirby’s Fourth World.Starlin continued his impactful writing with the DC storyline A Death in the Family, which featured the death of Jason Todd, the second Robin, during his run on Batman.He continues branching out creatively and created his own character, Dreadstar.
