Tattoo, the creative force behind the iconic Ecto-1 guest car at Tucson Comic-Con 2024, has been crafting famous automobiles since 1997. His latest masterpiece, the Ecto-1, breathes new life into a 1963 Pontiac Bonneville hearse, meticulously resurrected to embody the spirit of the original Ectomobile. Through extensive research and study of the classic vehicle, Tattoo has artfully reconstructed each component of the Ecto-1, utilizing recycled and reclaimed materials for authenticity and sustainability.
Every detail of the Ecto-1 is a testament to Tattoo’s craftsmanship, with hand-wired systems powered by wind-generated energy and solar panels. This marvel of engineering is not only a visual spectacle but also an interactive experience, inviting attendees to photograph and interact with its authentic lights, sirens, and even the mischievous Slimer himself. Attendees of all ages can snap photos and interact with the amazing Ecto-1.

Mike MacLean, Rudy Flores, and Mike DeBalfo Join Tucson Comic-Con 2024 Guest Lineup
TUCSON, AZ – June 14, 2024 – Tucson Comic-Con announces the addition of writer Mike MacLean, artist Rudy Flores, and premier cover artist Mike DeBalfo to the 2024 guest lineup. These accomplished individuals will bring a wealth of experience and creativity to this year’s event.
Mike MacLean co-writes Lady Death, La Muerta, and Hellwitch with Brian Pulido, founder of Coffin Comics. He is also the screenwriter behind the Syfy movies Sharktopus, Piranhaconda, and Dinocroc vs. Supergator, produced by Roger Corman. In addition to these films, Mike wrote the comedy Attack of the 50ft Cheerleader and the military thriller Operation Rogue.
Mike’s work includes crime stories featured in The Best American Mystery Stories, Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, and Mystery Tribune. Rudy Flores is an artist from Tucson, AZ. For the last nine years, he and his wife have worked on the Army Man Project, which 3D scans and prints figures based on real people in the style of classic army men toys. Nearly 700 people have been scanned for the project, showcasing their careers, hobbies, and interests. The figures are part of the ongoing series Tiny Tributes, now a permanent part of the Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures in Tucson.
Rudy is also a digital sculptor who has produced creatures for exhibits and toy production. He is currently working on the graphic novel Mosca Roja and has provided covers for the Little Tucson Book series. Rudy co-owns the sticker production company Hex and Hew, collaborating with local artists, businesses, and bands.
Mike DeBalfo, based in Phoenix, AZ, has been a top-selling cover artist since 2009. He has worked with publishers such as Zenescope Entertainment, Coffin Comics, Aspen Comics, and Big Dog Ink.
Inspired by Jim Lee and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, DeBalfo developed his skills and “good girl” art style at the Joe Kubert School of Art, graduating in 2003. A frequent convention guest, DeBalfo continues to expand his portfolio with cover art, collaborations, private commissions, and charitable auctions.

John Layman is the creator, writer, and letterer of CHEW, the New York Times best-selling, Harvey Award, and multi-Eisner Award-winning series from Image Comics. He has also worked as an editor for WildStorm Productions and has written for every major comic publisher over the last three decades. His work includes Detective Comics, Batman Eternal, Catwoman, Godzilla, Judge Dredd Vs. Aliens Vs. Predator, Thundercats, Gambit, Scarface, Red Sonja, Mars Attacks, Marvel Zombies Vs. Army of Darkness, and more. Layman’s current projects are Suicide Squad: Kill Arkham Asylum for DC Comics, and The Scorched and Spawn Kills Every Spawn series for Image Comics.
Eric Henson is known for his cover art on titles like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Scott Snyder’s Undiscovered Country and Nocterra, Image Comics’ Prodigy, and Coffin Comics’ Lady Death. Henson has also done interior art for The Perhapanauts and the Mike Wieringo tribute series Tellos: By Thy Side. Henson’s journey in comics began with the documentary Comic-Con Episode 4: A Fan’s Hope, produced by Stan Lee. He has worked on various projects, including toy packaging, film storyboards, character designs, posters, and novel covers.
Jay Fotos is a multi-award-winning comics veteran with over two decades of experience. He has worked on hundreds of projects, including Spawn, Godzilla, Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and 30 Days of Night. Fotos has contributed to the ongoing Image Comics series 68 and Frank Frazetta’s Death Dealer. His creature concept designs have been featured in the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House and the film Black Friday starring Bruce Campbell. Fotos’s TV series V-Wars, Wynonna Earp, and the #1 New York Times Best Seller series Locke & Key are currently streaming on Netflix. Fotos works in animation, video games, board games, album art, TV, film, and toy design. He also teaches courses at Phoenix College in their Comic Arts Degree Program. James A. Owen is the founder and executive director of Coppervale International. He has written and illustrated two dozen StarChild comics, the award-winning MythWorld series, the best-selling Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica, and the inspirational trilogy The Meditations. James has over one million publications in print worldwide. His latest release is the eighth Imaginarium Geographica book, The Dragon Knight. Currently, he is working on a 35-year art retrospective, his Patreon periodical Words & Pictures, the next Meditations book, and more at the Coppervale Studio in Arizona.
Steven Butler is a 35-year veteran in the comic industry, known for his work on titles like Web Of Spider-Man, Punisher War Journal, and Sonic The Hedgehog. Currently, he is teaming up with his daughter Lily Butler on Archie Comics’ digest series and creating new comics for their DUO Publishing imprint.
Lily Butler is a comic artist from Mississippi, known for her work with Marvel and DC Comics. She is currently an inker for Archie Comics and has self-published Fianna McCool and the Hound of Ulster, an interpretation of celtic mythology. Fans are encouraged to check out her amazing work.

Jeffrey J. Mariotte is an award-winning author known for Blood and Gold, Desperadoes, Fade to Black, and Tarzan and The Forest of Stone. With over sixty novels, nearly 200 comic books and graphic novels, and dozens of short stories to his name, Mariotte has received multiple awards, including three Scribe Awards for Best Original Novel and the Inkpot Award from San Diego Comic-Con. He has also been a finalist for prestigious awards like the Bram Stoker Award and the Spur Award. Mariotte has held distinguished positions in publishing, including Vice President of Marketing for WildStorm Productions/Image Comics, Senior Editor for DC Comics, and Editor-in-Chief for IDW Publications.
Jessica Feinberg is an author and illustrator known for her imaginative works that blend the mundane with the magical. She has written and illustrated near seventy books, including Spirit Dragons & Other Rare Spectral Creatures and Water Dragons & Other Rare Aquatic Creatures. Feinberg has also designed playing cards, oracle decks, games, and jewelry. With over 2500 creatures painted and 60 crowdfunding projects funded, she actively promotes the local spiritual and magical community in Tucson through her work with Four Of Wands.
Benjamin Mackey is an illustrator and graphic designer with a long history of creating beautiful art. He has worked with companies like Spinmaster and RSVLTS, creating designs for Star Wars, Jurassic Park, The Office, and Twin Peaks. Mackey is also the co-creator and illustrator of Serpent Inc. and Saints from Image Comics.
