Tucson Comic-Con has policies in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, exhibitors, guests and staff. Additionally, Tucson Comic-Con is required to adhere to the rules of the Tucson Convention Center, as well as all local, state and federal laws.
Baggage Policy
Please note that SMG, Tucson Convention Center’s management company, has the right to change this baggage policy at any time.
Guests entering any facility in the Tucson Convention Center are subject to search at the discretion of management. Tucson Convention Center does not provide storage for any confiscated baggage.
EXHIBITORS, GUESTS & PANELISTS: There will be a separate entrance open during setup and Exhibit Hall hours to bring goods into the venue without the above restrictions. You will be required to show your exhibitor badge in order to access this special entrance.
Attendee Fees & Badges
- An attendee wristband valid for day of attendance or an exhibitor badge must be worn at times while attending Tucson Comic-Con. Attendees not wearing proper credentials will not be allowed into the convention areas. Each attendee wristband or exhibitor badge admits one person to Tucson Comic-Con.
- Once issued at registration, Tucson Comic-Con attendee wristbands and exhibitor badges are non-transferrable.
- Tucson Comic-Con cannot replace lost badges or wristbands. In the event of a lost badge or wristband, a new one must be purchased at the standard price in order to regain entry.
- It is unlawful to duplicate or alter a Tucson Comic-Con badge or wristband. Duplicated or altered badges and wristbands will be confiscated and offending parties will be immediately ejected from the event.
Children & Curfew
All children aged 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or older at all times while on the premises of Tucson Comic-Con.
Pursuant to the City of Tucson’s curfew law, all unsupervised children under the age of 16 are not permitted to be away from home between the hours of 10:00PM and 5:00AM. For children between the ages of 16 and 17, curfew hours are between midnight and 5:00AM. Tucson city ordinance places responsibility on parents and guardians to supervise their children and assume custody of them in the event that their children violate curfew.
Personal Belongings
Tucson Comic-Con and the Tucson Convention Center, nor any of their agents cannot not be held responsible or liable for lost belongings. A Lost and Found will be located at the Information Desk at the Tucson Convention Center.
Food & Drink
Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the venue. Food and beverages may be purchased at the concessions areas inside the convention center or at the food trucks located outside of the Exhibit Hall.
Costume Policy
Tucson Comic Con is an all ages event that is committed to being a family-friendly inclusive environment and welcomes cosplayers of all body types and backgrounds. The following guidelines must be adhered to when wearing a costume to our events.
- The absence of clothing or a costume is not itself a costume. Nudity is not allowed at any Tucson Comic Con event. All costumed attendees are required to have opaque fabric providing reasonable coverage of breasts, buttocks and genitals. Opaque bodysuits that simulate nudity are not allowed. Anyone wearing a costume that is too revealing in the sole judgment of Tucson Comic Con will be asked to leave the Event.
- Costumes that are in and of themselves deemed to be racist, obscene, or derogatory by the organizers will not be permitted.
- Costumes or props that incorporate helium balloons, any type of smoke or other pyrotechnics, or costumes that expel liquids, gasses, or other matter are prohibited.
Firearms
Because the Tucson Convention Center carries a liquor license, Arizona State law prohibits the possession of firearms by anyone on its premises, except for law enforcement personnel. This restriction includes both concealed and non-concealed firearms, permit or no permit.
Service Animals
Only trained service animals are permitted at Tucson Comic-Con, per the Tucson Convention Center. Service animals must be kept on leashes/harnesses and under the control of their owners at all times.
Photography & Video Recording
When taking photographs or video recordings at Tucson Comic-Con, please observe surrounding traffic and avoid blocking hallways and pathways for extended periods. Please be considerate and ask before taking pictures of or with attendees, guests, exhibitors, exhibit spaces, and/or staff.
Distribution of Flyers & Promotional Materials
The distribution of flyers or other promotional materials without prior approval of Tucson Comic-Con is not permitted. Unapproved flyers and other promotional materials found on the convention premises will be discarded without notice by Tucson Comic-Con staff.
Signage
The posting of and display of signage by attendees, exhibitors or guests anywhere in the convention area without prior approval of Tucson Comic-Con is not permitted. Offending signs will be taken down and confiscated by Tucson Comic-Con staff without warning. Signs that are integral parts of costumes may be permitted with the approval of Tucson Comic-Con staff.
Attendees, exhibitors and guests found in violation of this policy may be subject to membership revocation and ejection from the event, at Tucson Comic-Con’s discretion.
