The Makeshift Man, Dead World
JoJo Seames is a comic book creator and freelance illustrator from Tucson, Arizona, whose work lives at a playful intersection between the fantastic and the mundane. She’s the writer and artist of ongoing independent comic series The Makeshift Man about a magical misanthrope and his jackalope sidekick, a book which is entirely hand-painted in JoJo’s favorite medium, watercolor. JoJo was also the artist of horror comedy Monster Plus, done in collaboration with Chad Bowers and Josh Krach, and has contributed to multiple comics anthologies including Boo! Halloween Stories, and Strange Romance. JoJo’s character designs and illustrations have featured in the collectible card games Dead World and MetaZoo, as well as the video game Apocryphauna, and JoJo also serves as a member of the voice cast for the hybrid animation-and-puppet series Obsidian National Forest.
