Bloodshot, Batman Beyond
Bernard Chang is an Asian-American comic book artist and designer, best known for his work in the comic book and entertainment design industries. He is the co-creator, along with Gene Luen Yang, of MONKEY PRINCE, DC Comics’ newest superhero based on the legendary Monkey King and infusing the Journey to the West mythology into the DC universe, side-by-side with Batman and Robin; and is a former Walt Disney Imagineer, designing rides and attractions as a blue sky concept designer and producer. Bernard is currently drawing POWER MAN: TIMELESS, for Marvel Comics.
At he age of 20, Bernard broke into the comic book industry, and under the tutelage of the legendary Bob Layton at Valiant Comics, he was voted onto the WIZARD:THE GUIDE TO COMICS Top Ten Artists list, as well as being nominated for the Russ Manning Award for best newcomer in his rookie year for his work on THE SECOND LIFE OF DOCTOR MIRAGE. Since, he has drawn books such as WONDER WOMAN, SUPERGIRL, SUPERMAN, GREEN LANTERN CORPS, BATMAN BEYOND, TEEN TITANS, and X-MEN.
Bernard received his bachelor’s degree in architecture from Pratt Institute, where he attended on a full scholarship, and was the captain of the men’s basketball team. Former Assistant Coach of the Miami Heat, Tony Fiorentino, projected Bernard as a late third round pick in the 1995 NBA draft, before his career in art took off.
