Greetings Tucson,
As many of you are aware, the uncertainty and hardship brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the lives of many and has left a lot of us wondering when we can all go back to the way things were.
Over the last few months, we have been carefully evaluating the pros and cons of going forward with Tucson Comic-Con 2020, an event that’s expected to host well over 10,000 attendees. In light of the recent spikes in cases in the State of Arizona, it’s with a heavy heart that we have decided to cancel this year’s convention. This was not an easy decision for us to make, but we feel very strongly that the health and safety of our staff, guests, attendees, and neighbors is of the utmost importance while we all unite as a country to beat this pandemic. We look forward to the return of Tucson Comic-Con in 2021 at the Tucson Convention Center in Downtown Tucson, Arizona. Official dates are to be announced!
Due to the pandemic, we never actually opened attendee ticket sales for the 2020 show. But if you are an exhibitor that already purchased table or booth space for 2020, your space will automatically transfer to the 2021 show. We do understand that it may not be realistic for some exhibitors to return in 2021, so if this applies to you, please contact us at exhibitors@tucsoncomic-con.com so that we may assist you with arrangements.
As a small, family-owned business, we completely understand that you all play an important role in the success of Tucson Comic-Con. From its humble beginnings in 2008, we’ve watched our show grow from a small gathering of just 500 fans in a single-day event to a 3-day regional-sized show with A-List comic creators, celebrity guests and lots of great programming. We wouldn’t have been able to do all of this without all of you, so from the bottoms of our hearts, we thank you all for your ongoing dedication and support! We’re completely heartbroken that we can’t see all of you this year, but we look forward to throwing our most awesome show yet in 2021!
Stay safe out there and be kind! We love you!
