Today, we just confirmed comic creators Alyssa Gerwig, Benjamin Mackey and Mike DeBalfo, plus artist/costumer Alexis Noriega as guests for Tucson Comic-Con 2018!
ALYSSA GERWIG is known as WalkingMelonsAAA on YouTube and is an independent artist and animator. Her YouTube channel has over 260,000 subscribers and consists mainly of Speedpaint videos of her painting art from start to finish. Her content indulges in the latest pop culture trends and classics as video games and cartoons are a huge passion of hers.
BENJAMIN MACKEY is the co-creator/artist of SAINTS from Image Comics and the official Twin Peaks tarot card deck. He has worked as a freelance illustrator over the past nine years. He lives in Tucson and enjoys a damn fine cup of coffee.
MIKE DEBALFO is a freelance illustrator best known for his charming and flirty “good girl” brand of pinup art. Since 2009 Mike has been working professionally in the comic book field illustrating numerous memorable covers for companies such as Zenescope Entertainment, Big Dog Ink, Aspen Comics, Lady Death, Zombies vs. Cheerleaders and more. Most recently Mike launched his own branding campaign of Squirrel Girls (Brisk, Macy, Sable & Roxy) that became an instant hit among fans, and he is currently illustrating covers as well as interior pages for Soulfire with Aspen Comics.
ALEXIS NORIEGA is a self-taught costume maker and wings specialist. She started cosplaying in high school and quickly fell in love with creating and designing elaborate costumes. Once she made her first set of wings for a costume, she was hooked. Her work has been showcased in several viral videos in the last few years, and she has been fortunate enough to create wings for fans all over the world through her cosplay business The Crooked Feather. Alexis has participated as a cosplay guest at several comic cons all over the world both by herself and as part of a local Justice League cosplay group. She hopes to inspire young people to go into STEM fields with her creative mechanical wings.
